Custom Metal Coating was established in 1998 by Jay Furlong. Being involved in dirt track racing Jay noticed that central Pennsylvania racers needed some place local to get their cars powder coated. He started thinking race cars were going to be his main business. Little did he know that this area needed powder coating services for more than just race cars. Businesses of all sorts were coming to him with projects and soon he had a shop full of a little bit of everything.  He built the company from the ground up providing an excellent product and fantastic customer service to go with it.

In late 2013 Jay decided it was time to retire and ownership of the business was purchased by his son Jeff . Jeff has been a business owner in other ventures since 2009 and always knew CMC was going to be a big part of his life.

Jeff strives to carry on the legacy Jay has built by providing the same quality product finishes and friendly customer service everyone has known to expect from the Furlong’s.
